“Gotta love it!!”
I had the pleasure of staying at Issimo Suites in Manuel Antonio this past January, and it was truly a memorable experience. I booked a Deluxe Suite, and from the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how spacious and comfortable it was. The highlight, without a doubt, was the breathtaking view waking up to that scenery every morning felt like something out of a dream. One of the most unique parts of the stay was the wildlife. The monkeys were absolutely incredible (and a little mischievous!). At one point, they even tried to open the door to my balcony, which was both surprising and unforgettable. It really made me feel connected to the natural beauty of Manuel Antonio in a way you just don’t get everywhere. I also want to give a special thanks to Jaffarson at the front desk. He went above and beyond to make my stay smooth and enjoyable. He helped me get around Manuel Antonio with ease and even assisted in coordinating transportation all the way to Montes de Oca, which made my travel plans much less stressful. Overall, this was a fantastic stay beautiful accommodations, incredible views, and outstanding service. I would definitely recommend Issimo Suites to anyone looking for a relaxing and unique experience in Manuel Antonio not to mention the spectacular restaurant!.

“Thank you for everything!”
I booked this place to celebrate my anniversary, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made. From the start, the team went above and beyond. Special thanks to Ivannia and JC at reception for helping me arrange room decorations and activities well in advance, nearly a month ahead. They made everything seamless and even managed to organize last-minute airport transportation for us. We absolutely loved the hotel itself. The pool was incredible—perfect for swimming, and open 24/7, so we stayed in until we were completely worn out! A big thank you to Carlos, who made our pool time even more fun by teaching us some Spanish while we enjoyed margaritas. And thanks to Armando as well for the fun buggy rides! Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better anniversary getaway.

Which Suite to Book at Issimo
Issimo sells four suite types. Every one sleeps two, with a super-king bed, a hot tub and a terrace with sea views, so the choice comes down to size and how wide the view is.

For most couples, the Junior Suite is enough. It has the same hot tub and sea-view terrace as the bigger suites. For three nights in mid-November 2026 it started at $987 with breakfast and free cancellation, about $329 a night, plus about $117 in tax shown separately.
The Vista Suite is the splurge, with the widest view and a seating area. It was the only suite with a non-refundable rate: $1,706 for the same November dates, with no separate tax listed.
Book early and keep the flexible rate. Refundable rates could be cancelled free until about a month before arrival in every sample we pulled, and January 2027 prices ran about 40% above November's.
If stairs are a concern, say so when you book. A guest in the Honeymoon Suite warned of steps inside it, and the property has no elevator.
What Guests Say About Issimo
Across 274 reviews, Issimo scores 8.9 out of 10. The review analysis rates service (9.4), room quality (9.2) and location (9.1) highest, with food (8.3) the lowest. Issimo is small and gets fewer reviews than the big hotels, so the 75 most recent English-language reviews we read run from August 2024 to April 2026.
The view comes first. Guests describe waking up to the Pacific from bed, soaking in the hot tub over the rainforest and watching the sunset from the restaurant and pool. Two singled out Room 101 for its view.
Then the staff and the quiet. Reviews name the team at reception and in the restaurant, and couples describe staff decorating rooms, arranging anniversary surprises and making a just-engaged couple feel special. Guests like that it feels private, away from the busier part of Manuel Antonio, with monkeys on the balcony and toucans and macaws above the canopy.
The complaints are consistent. Several guests found the rooms dated, a couple had trouble with hot water, and some felt the restaurant was pricey or repetitive for a full stay. There are many stairs and no elevator. One guest in November 2025 had building work above the pool.
What You Should Know
- Lock your balcony door. Capuchin monkeys visit the terraces and will take food and loose items, guests warn.
- The beach takes some effort. One guest found the private trail down very steep and hard to navigate; another walked about five minutes down the road to the beach.
- Happy hour and the included breakfast stretch the budget; guests found dinner at the restaurant good but not cheap.
- If hot water matters for your hot tub, mention it at check-in: a few guests had lukewarm water.
Getting to Issimo
Issimo sits on a cliffside on the road to Punta Quepos, above the rainforest canopy. Parking is free and a few steps from the entrance. A car helps if you want to eat out in town; one guest wished it were a shorter walk.
